For our stay at the Ritz we have 'Club' access that not only gives you one of the best room views from the hotel but all day unlimited breakfast followed by brunch, afternoon tea, canapes, supper and unlimited drinks! From 5pm each day there are complimentary cocktails where i met my new friend, the Singapore Sling. Normally kids aren't allowed in the Club Lounge from 5pm but when we arrived they said the kids have been so well behaved every time they have been there that they could stay in the Club. Another family arrived and they were taken outside - our kids were chuffed - and so were Terry and I. Outside the humidity was fierce!
A few more Singapore Slings later, we headed to the Seafood Extravaganza in the restaurant. We ordered a bottle of wine from Chile to try something different - a lot of the wines on the menu were from NSW. Then i basically ran the pork belly and crispy duck station. Terry headed to the crabs claws and prawns, James went to the roast chicken and Will - well he went straight for the M&M's at the lolly station. It really stood out that all of the Asian ladies were eating a LOT of lettuce. Lettuce, lettuce and more lettuce. Not for me - I ate more and more and more pork belly. No wonder they are so thin!
Started out day the with breaky where the kids were given a bag of goodbye gifts left for them from the amazing guest relations officer 'Tin' - two teddies, T-shirts, chips and a big bag of M&M's which Tin had learned were Will's favourite treat. I can't explain how incredible the level of service is here - every turn you take there is someone offering to do or get something for you. The staff have called us all by name from the moment we arrived and they truly make you feel like you are the most important guests in the hotel. They are all so great at their jobs, I am very impressed. As i said before i keep telling the kids....'you're not princes' but seriously Terry and I are beginning to think they have us mixed up with a King and Queen. This hotel has been worth every cent.
Today we went on a bus tour of the city - it was really humid and we were at the top of the open air bus. The city is spectacular and everything is so green!
Back to the hotel now for a swim and to get ready for our flight tonight. We will arrive into London at 5am - will head straight to the hotel and meet up with Mum and Phil!
Farewell Singapore - we will be back.
