Salt Lake City to Jackson Hole - 3 states in one day

After the early start we headed for a quick group photo at Utah’s Capitol Building.  The guide put on some choir music and Will and I found it so funny and we were laughing so much we had tears streaming down our face.  We later found out it was music of the Mormon choir.  We saw many, many building of the church, Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints.  The first settler in Salt Lake City was a Mormon and they seem to own the town – even a wheat farm beared the church’s name.

We then travelled on to Montpellier where we went to the National Oregon & California Trail Centre.  We learnt about the pioneers and the grueling journey they had to endure on their travel to the new frontier.  Out of every 100 people that attempted the journey, 18 would die.

We then drove through Idaho and saw where Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid robbed a bank.  We then travelled into Wyoming – three states in total today.  The upside of a tour is we can have a little snooze on the bus – even Will had a little snooze.  Poor Terry slept through both the Butch Cassidy spots - he was devastated!  We are still pretty tired from the cracking pace we set in Canada.  Now we can relax and let people drive us around and carry our bags.

We then arrived in Jackson Hole and we had time to look around the town – and of course have our photo taken with the famous antlers.  Jackson reminds Terry and I of a Western Whistler.   We were then taken straight to a restaurant for dinner.  We have to stop eating so much – Terry and I are both going to try and cut back tomorrow!

Tonight we are staying in a really nice, little cabin.  When we arrived it was really dark and the lights weren’t on at the front of the cabins – it made it really difficult to navigate the steps, key and lights.  Lucky I carry a little torch with me and I went around helping the oldies into their rooms.  I had found it hard enough, I couldn’t let the little nanas stumble around in the dark! Good karma coming my way!

Mum – it is so funny.  Will keeps saying, ‘Oh, nana, come on nana.  Poppy, go home, go on luvie go home’.  He says this many, many times a day.  Will in particular is missing you a LOT.  He said the other day, ‘Oh where are you nana, where are ya?’

Rainee - I sat with Will on the coach today and he was reminding me of Clifford!  He would not stop talking and he even pretended to play a flute.  We then saw a little green dinosaur statue out the window!
